Creating.

I take the opportunity to dive into nothing and create something. When playing the piano, I am reminded that life is full of simplicity and also complexity, and the music is often both too. A vast spectrum of feelings, and experiences are available to us, that reach far beyond the physical life that we touch and see. Sometimes we describe that as a "secret, inner life".  Just like striking a key - the note is sounding and resounding and vibrating and speaking through invisible realms, making waves, impressions in space. Some of that space you occupy.

I would like my inner life to speak to yours, and open up that world for you. That is so precious, rich, deep, and full of beauty. It is also full of story, emotion, and breath.

A piece often feels complete to me when it's reached a climax, taken you on a journey, revealed a story, and has returned back home. To me music is a metaphor for the journey of the soul ;  often A beautiful journey, where we can summon great parts of ourselves into being - Whatever we choose… Maybe even courage, resilience, and light.
